Our Little Cotton Dress LLC

The charm of handmade.

We have created Little Cotton Dress LLC, Children's Apparel, and our Website www.littlecottondress.com following our dream of offering children’s fashion based on craftswomen’s talents, to put our really amateur expertise and tastes in fashion into practice. We are studying and learning. We keep innovating and incorporating new styles, colors, techniques, craftsperson’s and natural materials, step by step, one day at a time.

Viviana

Based in the Sunshine State of Florida, I aim to create artistic pieces that enchant and inspire while minimally impacting our environment. I work exclusively with fine, natural textiles, including sustainable fabrics, and most of my pieces are constructed with cotton farmed in the United States, wool from the ecuadorian Andes, tagua from Ecuadorian Rainforest, Coconut Shells from the Noth Pacif Coast of Ecuador, etc.

Wondering my backgrounds and love of fashion design, I set out to design a collection inspired by the clothes I wore as child, but updated for today’s more casual lifestyle and trendy colors. The result is a playful yet classically-inspired collection of dresses, skirts, tops, sweaters and accesories for girls, ages 6 months to 12 years.

This year we decided to launch a line of affordable maternity clothes that women would love to wear. Boho inspired, fresh and soft. All ours design have a name, we have Flora, Isis and Michelle. We are very excited to have this for sale on Feb 2014.

Besides my editorial designer career, I have always loved handcraft activities, cooking, painting and drawing. My Grandma taught me some notions of couture; cable knitting, crochet, patching, quilting, mending, sewing, you name it. She used to have a magazine and today I am glad to have this magazine on my book shelf as memento of my inspiration. For our line of dresses I always try to incorporate all kinds of embroidery (Mallorquin, French Knots, Jacobean, Crewelwork), and , cable knit and crochet. Its very important for us to use natural elements such as wool, tagua (plant ivory), coconut for buttons and details, and off course cotton fabrics.

Our dresses proposal includes colorful flowers, playful leaves and vines, brilliant butterflies, bright embroidery that almost look like paintings similar to your kids drawings !

We are constantly creating new products with the same philosophy, all handmade in crafts shops, sweat -free workshops, Fair Trade, using natural fibers, to make versatile, practical clothes that are still affordable, trendy – simply a proposal to highlight how beautiful our children are.

LittleCottonDress LLC is careful with every detail, to dress up what you cherish the most – your beloved children.

After several years, we had achieved good relations with our producers, who were always open to new proposals. These are 50 female heads of household who work in a cooperative in the province of Imbabura, Ecuador. In the Kichwa language, they use the word “minga” for cooperative work, and this is one of the most beautiful values we have discovered in the culture of these people high in Ecuador’s Andes.
