Little Cotton Dress is  Changing the Face of Beauty

Children of All Abilities to Be Featured at Fashion Runway Event Held at The Land of Nod Changing the Face of Beauty introducing 2016 partners!

Chicago – In the perfect collaboration with The Land of Nod (LON), a national children’s furniture and home décor retailer, as well as our 2016 "Proud Participating Partners", Changing the Face of Beauty (CTFOB) will be featuring children of all abilities on the runway at LON’s Chicago flagship store located at 900 North Ave on April 17th at 4:00pm. It is with honor to bring this event to Chicago in partnership with such an exceptional Chicago children’s brand.

Our new "Proud Participating Partner" LON is the perfect partner to work with on such a cutting edge event because they encourage children to be themselves through their whimsical, high quality products. LON recognizes the beauty in all children. Together we look forward to creating an event that showcases children of all abilities. This is the first fashion focused event LON has hosted in their stores. The partnership with CTFOB is the perfect chance to be a part of an important shift that needs to happen in events like runway shows. We hope to encourage the inclusion of disability in children’s fashion.

Changing the Face of Beauty is a nonprofit 501c3 that was founded in 2012 right here in Chicago. It has been featured on CNN, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Huffington Post and People over the past 4 years. CTFOB advocates and encourages for visible inclusion of people with disabilities in marketing and advertising. Over the past 4 years over 100 companies globally have been influenced to include models with all abilities in their marketing message.

"Partnerships with companies like LON help us encourage the world to see a diverse representation of who we really are as a society," says Katie Driscoll, Founder and President of CTFOB. "We believe events like this one communicate how important it is for all consumers to feel represented in marketing messages. We hope to encourage other brands to look at their own marketing strategies as we showcase how amazing children of all abilities look when they are given the opportunity to be seen together."

CTFOB is no stranger to events like this. We were instrumental in helping Jamie Brewer become the first women with Down syndrome on the runway at New York Fashion week in 2015. It is our goal to continue to show the advertising industry how important it is to include the community of people with disabilities in their every day marketing message.

The event is open to everyone. It will begin with a red carpet welcome for all kids and their families. There will be stations filled with fun and fashion throughout the store as well as an opportunity to shop LON and some of our partners at a discounted rate. The runway show will be at 4:30 featuring children of all abilities. Treats will be provided for those in attendance.

We presents the VALENTINA Collection

inspired by Valentina Guerrero

10% of profits will be donated to the National Down Syndrome Society to promote the value, acceptance and inclusion of persons with Down’s syndrome.

Miami, FL.-  Little Cotton Dress and Valentina Guerrero have partnered to bring out the Valentina Collection inspired by the 2-year-old model who also has Down syndrome. The collection’s theme is love – and its symbol, the heart – since people with this syndrome are characteristically very loving, and since the name “Valentina” comes from St. Valentine, whose day is for love and friendship.

The Valentina Collection, designed jointly by Little Cotton Dress and Valentina’s mother, Ceceliz, has four items: two dresses, one vest, and one skirt and shirt suit. All these items are hand-made by Ecuadorian artisans with ecological materials. This line will go on sale in Zulily, 23-26 January, and starting on the 26th it will be available at littlecottondress.com, just in time for Valentine’s Day! There are other dates and distributor shops being arranged and to be announced soon through Little Cotton Dress and Valentina Guerrero’s social networks, along with other surprises!

Little Cotton Dress will donate 10% of total profits from the collection to the National Down Syndrome Society to promote the value, acceptance and inclusion of persons with Down’s syndrome.

Little Cotton Dress is celebrating the diversity and beauty of unconditional love, and since Down syndrome is a genetic condition, the hashtag chosen for this campaign is #LoveUnCONDITIONally.

Viviana Vinueza, Director and Designer of Little Cotton Dress, tells us about her experience working with Valentina: “She is very photogenic, funny, full of life, giving off so much energy – her smile has won me over.”
